The Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake

Ian Callum revisits his most celebrated design, transforming the Vanquish 25 into a coachbuilt shooting brake of rare elegance, performance, and practicality.

The Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake

When Ian Callum — the man responsible for penning some of the most beautiful cars of the modern era — revisits his own work, the results are never less than remarkable. His Vanquish 25 was already a masterclass in the art of the restomod, transforming Aston Martin’s early-21st-century flagship (which Callum first designed in the late 1990s) into a thoroughly modern, yet unmistakably classic, grand tourer. Now, in its most intriguing evolution yet, Callum has turned his hand to a shooting brake.

A silhouette that speaks of speed and sophistication

The extended roofline, flowing seamlessly into a sculpted estate rear, recalls a time when performance and practicality were not mutually exclusive. It’s a body style with deep British roots — naturally reminiscent of the bespoke coachbuilt Radford shooting brakes of the 1960s  — here interpreted with contemporary elegance.

Beneath its elegantly lengthened silhouette, the Shooting Brake retains the Vanquish 25’s mechanical enhancements: a hand-reworked 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 delivering around 580bhp, uprated suspension with Bilstein dampers, carbon-ceramic brakes, and discreet aerodynamic refinements. Inside, the cabin blends the best of modern ergonomics with artisanal detailing.

Like the coupe, the Shooting Brake will be built in extremely limited numbers, each example a commission in the great British coachbuilding tradition — tailored entirely to the client’s taste and lifestyle. Pricing is expected to surpass the £550,000 starting point of the coupe, a reflection not merely of exclusivity, but of the sheer craftsmanship involved.

A tail designed for both style and stowage

For those with the means — and the imagination — the Callum Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake offers the rarest of motoring pleasures: the ability to cross continents in grand style, with luggage space for both a long weekend in the country and a season’s worth of fine tailoring.
