The Porsche 911 GT3 is a high performance version of the Porsche 911 sports car primarily intended for racing. It is a line of high-performance models, which began with the 1973 911 Carrera RS. The GT3 is named after the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Group GT3 class in which it was designed to compete.
A number of variations, designed for road and track duty, have been introduced since its launch in 1999. More than 14,000 911 GT3 cars have been produced.
The GT3 has had a successful racing career in the one-make national Porsche Carrera Cup series, and the international Porsche Supercup. It has won championship and endurance races, including the GT class of the American Le Mans Series seven times, first overall in the 24 Hours of Daytona, and first overall at the 24 Hours Nürburgring six times.
The 2nd generation 996 GT3 received a 21hp power hike with the 3.6-litre engine now producing 381bhp. Suspension was lowered and uprated and ceramic brakes optional. Front and rear bumpers were re-designed as well as the side skirts and ‘tea tray’ rear wing.

Radiant in its factory designated colour of Guards Red, the purity of the GT3’s modest curves are still alluring nearly 20 years on. Its aerodynamic lines flow wonderfully, with its front splitter and protruding rear spoiler hinting that this is no ordinary 911.
On the whole the condition of the car is very good, with a consistent shine and no major blemishes to note. On closer inspection the bonnet and headlights are showing some minor stone chips, all in keeping with the cars age and mileage.
Specified as a Clubsport car from new the interior of this GT3 leans towards the track orientation. Cloth Recaro Seats with embroidered Porsche crests look fantastic and provide brilliant support for both driver and passenger, whilst the full roll cage and fire extinguisher assure any occupants that this is a formidable machine.
Creature comforts are sparse in the cabin, with a CD/FM Radio providing a basic level of entertainment.
Overall presentation on the interior is superb; seats are free from any marks or tears as does the surrounding trim and switchgear which largely sits free from any scuffs or fading.
Engine & Transmission:
Derived from Porsche’s GT1 race cars the 3.6L ‘Mezger’ Flat 6 fitted to the GT3 has become an icon in itself. Turn then key and the engine fires into life, immediately settling into the idle characteristic of the race derived engine. The immediate throttle response and noise is sublime as you work your way up to the 7,500 rpm redline.
Paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, and with peak power (355bhp) at 7,200 rpm, the ‘Mezger’ unit is hugely captivating even at everyday speeds.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes:
Contrasting the Guards red coachwork to perfection, the silver 18″ GT3 alloys present in excellent condition and complete the 996’s sleek aesthetic. Wheels are shod in matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyres with ample tread remaining at each corner.
Yellow calipers show brightly through the spokes and sit free from fading or chips, originally designated with first generation ceramic discs the car now runs more durable steel discs all of which have plenty of life left in them.
Supplied new in June 2003 this superb GT3 Clubsport has been very well kept, showing 13 stamps in the service book from both main dealers and Porsche specialists throughout the cars life. Service book shows that the last major service was in April 2018 less than 2k miles ago, whilst the most recent minor service was in June 2020 just 400 miles ago.
An almost complete log of MOT’s from 2006 tracks and verifies the cars mileage throughout its life, covering less than 9k miles with the current owner who purchased the car in October 2013.
Included with the car is a vast log of invoices/MOT’s, a complete original book pack with stamped service book and 2 sets of keys.
