A very hard to find 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe 4 Speed Manual
Finished in Red Exterior Paint and Black Leather interior.
Excellent condition throughout which is a testament to its previous keepers.
This particular Stingray sat for 15 years plus behind its then current owners house in the weeds.
The original engine was gone as it had been hot rodded with flared fenders.
It was then purchased by a chap named Eric in Englishtown New Jersey and went through an extensive restoration.
Eric worked for GM at the time and there were lots of original parts available. If they had it he bought it!
The Engine that sits in the car today is a 1978/79 454 Chevy Pick-up engine. When it was installed Eric fitted a better cam and a 1966 390HP Intake.
So as the car stands it has a 454 engine in it but the car itself is an original 427 425HP. Because of the 454 oval port heads Eric made it look like a 390HP car.
The gears are 4.11 in the rear.
Eric owned the car for 22 years before it was shipped to UK in February 2015. It was purchased by its last keeper in July 2015.
Since being in the UK from 2015 this Stingray has been loved equally as much as it was when owned by Eric in the USA.
Anything that has ever been needed to be spent on the Stingray has been spent. There are bills dating from when it first touched down in the UK to late 2017 where it was then placed in storage until now.
There have also been a number of significant upgrades to the Stingray which include:
Sweet Thunder “Give No Mercy” Sidepipes which were handmade by Cadillac Michigan, Imported then fitted Dec 2018. This cost around £1500
Steeroids Power Steering & Power Brakes fitted in 2016 at a cost of around £7500.
Other paperwork includes proof of Import into the UK and photos of restoration.
With this also comes original Corvette documentation manual, Corvette owners guide and various original brochures and colour charts.
Total owners including USA owners that we know of looks to be 4.
This Stingray is a truly special car and one that needs to be seen to be appreciated.
