Among Porsche 356 aficionados, one of the most desirable models is the early 1960s 'B' Roadster
crafted by the Belgian coachbuilding firm of D' Ieteren Freres.
Very few examples of these beautiful little open-tops were produced, just 473 on the T5 chassis.
Originally the 356 Roadsters were produced by the coachbuilders, Draux.
Presented here by Sports Classics London is a superb correct matching numbers example built by
D' Ieteren to T5 specification 'Single-Grille' Roadster from 1961.
As noted on the factory Kardex, the car was supplied new via Hoffman Motor Corp of New York on
the 9 th June 1961 to A. Gavlak of Santa Monica, California. Previous long-term keeper J Barrington, a
well known classic Porsche enthusiast, spent a considerable amount of money on restoration works
and engine rebuild, which explains why the car presents in such sensational condition.
