Here we have for sale a 1961 MGA MK II 1622cc Roadster. A revision and upgrade from the original MGA only some 8000 cars produced at this spec.
The engine size was increased again to 1622cc by increasing the bore from 75.4mm (2.97in), to 76.2mm (3.00in), for the mark II MGA. The cylinder head was also revised with larger valves and re-engineered combustion chambers. Horsepower increased to 90 BHP. It also had a higher ratio 4:1 rear axle, which made for more relaxed high-speed driving. An inset grille and Morris Mini tail lamps appearing horizontally below the deck lid were not that obvious visual changes.
This particular car was repatriated to the UK in 1990, fully restored and converted to right hand drive spec.
With just 3000 miles of use since restoration the car in presented in extremely good order all round, and finished in the classic colour of Iris Blue with navy piped blue trim, hood and tonneau.
Claimed to have never been out in the rain!! A supreme example of a standard car.
